In Kwazulu-Natal, half way between Johannesburg and Durban, not far from the Drakensberg you will find the Emaweni Game Ranch, a private hunting lodge and nature reserve and part of the Thukela Biosphere Reserves with 20.000 heactare.

The English translation of the Zulu word Emaweni means "Place of many Cliffs". The ranch is situated on the top of the hills - about 1.200 m high. In the valley below at about 600 meters lies the great and historic Tugela river (Zulu: Thukela). On nearly 7.500 acres of land, one can enjoy a splendid view, as well as the tranquillity and enormous variety of the landscape, ranging from luxurious, indigenous bush to open plains. Behind each hill, one is presented with a scene of the unique flora and fauna that South Africa has to offer.

With that Emaweni provides an abundant variety of ideal browse and grazing to form the best habitat for South Africa's premier trophy, the magnificent Nyala, as well as the worlds best quality Cape Bushbuck and plains game including Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Impala, Mountain Reedbuck and others.
